God's Great Gifts: Love

Dec 22, 2024    Matthew Balentine

In the final part of our series on 'God's Great Gifts,' we focus on love, the most significant of all gifts. According to 1 Corinthians 13:13, love surpasses faith and hope. God's love is boundless and unconditional, as shown in John 3:16 and the parable of the prodigal son. This love is forgiving and always welcoming, no matter our past actions. Jesus exemplified enduring love in John 13, even when faced with betrayal and denial. The church should mirror this enduring love, creating a community where love never gives up. Love is more than a feeling; it is a choice and a commitment. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 teaches that without love, our actions are meaningless. True love is patient, kind, humble, and forgiving. It moves, serves, and gives its best every day. As we go about our week, let's challenge ourselves to live out this love in our actions, words, and thoughts, remembering that love is a choice, a commitment, and a call to action.
